We protect our planet as a crucial aspect of our identity. Our wood parquets come from natural forests with sustainable management systems and strict quality controls, and have forest certificates such as FSC or PEFC. In addition, we offer a select range of Cradle to Cradle® certified parquets.
FSC
There are currently more than 3.8 billion hectares of forest ecosystems in the world. WINco’s priority is to protect our planet and therefore the natural forests that provide us with the wood we need. We do this by adopting corporate social responsibility practices and working with suppliers that are, for instance, FSC certified.
FSC, a certificate of environmentally sound forest management, is a benchmark certification that guarantees that the wood for our parquets actually comes from forests that comply with the protocols of the independent Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
PEFC
A hallmark of WINco is the use in our parquets of wood from natural forests with sustainable management systems and strict quality controls. Therefore, in addition to the FSC certificate, WINco parquets come from PEFC-certified wood.
The point is not only to offer the latest trends in wood flooring and the most advanced installation systems. We also consider it essential that the world’s leading association for sustainable forestry certifies that the forests from which WINco parquets come are responsibly managed. PEFC is the certificate that assures us that we work with wood from forests that are protected for present and future generations.
CRADLE TO CRADLE ®
The best parquet brands in the world base their design and manufacturing processes on eco-efficiency. Hence, their products reach the consumer in compliance with the highest standards of respect for the environment and people.
Choosing Cradle to Cradle® engineered wood flooring means going beyond what most would consider sustainability. WINco has a select range of Cradle to Cradle® certified parquet in its catalogue. This certificate provides assurance that the final product has been produced using renewable energies and applying a sustainable water management and social responsibility policy, and that they are designed to be recycled and reused.
The Cradle to Cradle® certification system has five levels of excellence. A selection of WINco parquets are Cradle to Cradle® Bronze certified. This means that a customer is choosing for their project wood flooring that have taken into account the use of renewable energies, the absence or minimum toxicity of materials and climate change in order to minimise the ecological footprint.
